Day Festival

It was great weekend for sport last weekend with the Wimbledon Final, Tour De France and The World Cup. The Tour De France ran through Sheffield on the Sunday but on the Saturday it was a gorgeous day and I attended a street Festival in Rotherham with my family. It was a great day with live Brass Bands playing and stalls selling everything from clothes to food. I am not a lover for Brass Band music but it oozed community spirit and it was lovely to see everyone coming together and enjoying the event. We sat on the grass for a few hours and ate hot dogs.

I wore my hair curly with a loose fitted pink top, a midi skirt and sandals. This outfit was comfortable but effortlessly as we were walking around for the day.

My makeup was very minimal and light with a pale pink theme. I don't know about other people but when it gets hot I definitely wear as little makeup as possible. I think its great to let your skin breathe in the heat and its just something I don't like doing. When I am on holiday I am the same.

Safari Style

To finish off mine and Als anniversary weekend we went to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. It was a lovely sunny day and perfect to go and see a range of animals. 

I wore a blue and white butterfly sun dress with cut out sides, a jean shirt and chunky black sandals. 

Yorkshire Wildlife park has been greatly developed over the years, from their work to help lions and the opportunity to get even closer to the animals. 

For giraffes and leopards there is an over head balcony for people to get a closer look at the animals. 

It's the first safari where I have been able to walk through an area where monkeys are jumping around you! I experienced a tiny monkey eating food right in front of where I was stood. It was quite amazing. 

At some point this year they will getting Polar Bears, which would be amazing to see! 

Although I do love going to the Zoo and Safari Parks, I do not agree with animals been kept locked up as an attraction; but then I look at it the opposite way that they are given great environments with great carers. Some of these animals are not endangered but find it extremely difficult to survive in the wild like Lions. Lion cubs have a very low percentage of surviving in the wild due to demand of food and water. So it's a difficult one! 

It is great to see at this park that the animals are treated very well, which is the main worry of animals in captivity. 

I know this post is slightly different to my other posts. I just felt like I needed to voice my opinion. This park is still ongoing development and I hope it offers great care to the animals been kept there! It's a great park and offers something for all ages, whether you go with family or friends.

There are benches everywhere so it would be lovely to take a picnic for a nice day out! The bonus is the price, at £15 per ticket.

Anniversary Dinner Date

The outfit of the night was a high waisted black skirt, a monochrome floral crop top, lace up ankle heels and a blue bag to break up the monochrome.

For mine and Als anniversary we went to Cafe Rouge in Sheffield to celebrate three amazing years together. It was a lovely night, unfortunately in started raining and I only had my cardigan to protect me! So that was fun! So if you saw a blondie running from shelter to shelter in Sheffield, that may have been me. 

Isn't it such a shame when you get all dolled up to go out and the weather is looking pretty decent, no sign of rain! So you don't pack an umbrella. Then you get out and the heavens open! It's like someone's deliberately trying to spoil your night and make you look like a drown rat! 

I'm pretty sure most women have experienced this annoying encounter with the weather!

My makeup of the night was a Neautral Smokey Eye, very similar to my Neautral Smokey Eye Post and red lipstick from Elizabeth Arden.

3 Year Anniversary

So it was mine and Al's 3 year anniversary yesterday, but unfortunately I wasn't able to post as I was busy with work, better late than never hey! 3 years has flown by for me and Alex, we both have said that it doesn't feel that long, which I think is a great thing because it still feels like that honeymoon period.

The sad thing about our anniversary is that we are not in the same same city. I recently moved back to Sheffield to do some saving and Al stayed in High Wycombe, that is a 2 and a half hour distant put between us! On the other hand I am seeing him tomorrow and we plan to celebrate our Anniversary the whole weekend so I am hoping the weather gets better as its looking rather wet!

Last year on our Anniversary we were in Tunisia together enjoying the sun! I hope were somewhere hot for our 4th Anniversary! For this year our plan is to do something great with the whole weekend. We had plans to go to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Saturday but the weather isn't looking too promising, so we may need to move that to the Sunday; and on the Saturday we definitely need to do something indoors I think.

Anyone got any ideas for around the Sheffield area?

To top the weekend off I think quality time is a must! You can go to great places and enjoy a great day out, but I don't get to see Al that often so I think being with each other is more important than going out. If you are in a long distant relationship like me, time is more important than going out. That is not a fact, only my opinion. Every couple will make their relationship work in their own way but me and Al are the type to spend quality time together whenever we can.

The Importance of 'Me Time'

I always feel that Sundays are the perfect day to have 'me time' or 'you time'. I think this it so important for every person to unwind from everyday life or if you are going through something at the time. I usually start this process with a bath as I feel nothing is more stress relieving than just laying there in hot/soapy water, with music on and candles burning away to clear your mind. I have a serious obsession with laying in my towel for a while and reading a magazine or browsing the internet, its so relaxing! You should complete this routine by applying moisturiser to your body and face, so your skin stays fresh. I picked up this Garnier Sun-kissed body moisturiser as the sun is starting to appear, so what better time to start building up your tan. However I have never used this moisturiser so I will have to update you on how good it is. If you have used it before let me know your thoughts?

Doing my makeup and nails always puts me in a good mood, I take 100% pride in my appearance so when I feel good on the outside it always makes me feel good on the inside and vice versa. Its the same sort of feeling to exercising, unless you enjoy exercising! When I exercise I almost have to push myself to do it but when I have finished, I feel so much better for it and my body feels refreshed. If you enjoy exercise, then why not combine that into your 'Me Time' routine.  

So if your feeling down or your not doing anything with your day, then why not put yourself in a great mood and work on yourself. You don't have to follow what I do but this stuff relaxes and makes me feel great. You can spend this time alone and or have friends over and watch a film while destressing as a group. Its always good to have these sorts of evenings with your girls. They are cheap, easy and you can shape them to however you want to, throwing some face masks in would be a great shout!

Creams - The Italian Gelato and Dessert Company

Since hearing about Creams from my friends and seeing their mouth watering images on Instagram and Facebook, I knew I needed to visit this place. I am a lover of cake and desserts, anything fattening or bad for you basically. Creams serves everything from Waffles, Crepes, Smoothies, Cakes and Ice Cream. On Sunday it was a beautiful day so me and Al decided to make use of the sunshine and have a pub lunch, although I don't think I have every seen such a small Lasagne. By the end of the meal we were both still hungry and I hate it when that happens, so I decided we should to go to Creams to have some dessert instead of ordering it at the pub.

 Creams is in Farnham by Slough so not too far from where I live. When we arrived there was a huge queue, which is not surprising because a lot of parents were buying ice cream for their children. We sat down and deciding to have Waffles and a Smoothy. I chose the Strawberry and Chocolate Indulgence with Vanilla Ice Cream and the Oreo Smoothy, Al chose the Chocoholic and a Milkybar Smoothy. My smoothy was much tastier by far, so he thought it was in his interest to swap them.

When the waffles arrived we just looked at each other, we definitely underestimated the size of these waffles. Its not surprising people go to Creams for a evening meal, but bare in mind me and Al had already eaten a meal! I suggest if you have waffles at Creams and you have ate previously, definitely share one.

The waffles reminded me of being in America and they were so soft inside, it tasted amazing .  I am definitely going back there again and the bonus is that it's not that expensive. My waffles and smoothly came to under £10 and by the end you should be full up, its bizarre if you are not. I am so glad I wasn't wearing something tight as I definitely had a food baby and I barely finished. I would recommend the Chocoholic Waffles that Al had rather than with the strawberries, as the strawberries go a tad warm which I wasn't too keen on but it was still yummy!

If you live in the area and you love dessert, ice cream and cake then definitely visit Creams in Farnham.  You will not be disappointed! They also have others in Southall, Woking, Norbury, Brixton, Kingston and are opening new stores in other locations.
