Outfit of The Day - Colourful Midi Dress and Slouch Cardi

As its been quite warm recently I have been living in colourful clothing and this dress is a perfect example. This is my OOTD and I added a thick slouchy cardigan for warmth and style. I bought this dress from Ebay, it was a great little bargain buy. I have this one and an off the dress in a different print. These dresses are perfect for the summer that is slowly approaching as the fabrics are thin and stretchy, which is very comfortable. I have other midi dresses that are quite difficult to get on due to the tightness of the fabric, making my body feel sucked in and claustrophobic.

This dress was brand new at £8.99 from an Ebay store, I was a little hesitant at first but due to the price I decided to try them out and I am so glad I did. I bought two at the time for a holiday and the owner was nice enough to deduct the shipping cost. There are a lot of these stores online so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

The cardigan is from New Look, it is a very old cardigan that I chucked on as I was cold, but when I looked in the mirror I was pleasantly surprised to how well it all went together. I have been in the house all day so I have had no need for shoes, but if I did I would probably choose some chunky sandals or ankle boots with fashion socks. To top off this look I would add a chunky bag that matched whatever colour shoes I decided to wear.

My makeup is very minimal as I knew I wasn't going anywhere, I don't really put a lot of makeup on when I know I'm staying in. I have been obsessed with high Ponytail Braids recently, when my hair is in the way or I want to get it out of my face this is my go to style.

New Look Sale - Bargain Outfits

I recently went shopping with my boyfriend and ended up browsing in New Look as there was SALE on. I am a huge lover of New look especially their shoe range. They have amazingly priced designs and are made to a high standard. New look is definitely at the top end of high street brands, due to the range, quality and pricing of their items. Like any girl I love Topshop, Warehouse and Miss Selfridge but with those brands comes the price tag, and thats not always as appealing. As women and shoppers, I think were all looking for those amazing buys that look expensive but don't shred our bank accounts.

I have put together three outfits from the New Look sale, which I think is incredible. If your looking for any clothing, shoes or accessories please go and check out New Look; Im pretty certain you will not be disappointed! These outfits could be worn on a night out, casual drinks or if you team it with some flats or something of your choice they could be worn on a smart/casual outing.

This black dress has an incredible shape to flatter and the embroidery pattern is so beautiful it makes the dress look really expensive. I teamed it up with their gold cuffs, a statement orange clutch bag and some leather wedge sandals.

TOTAL £36

(Dress  £12, Shoes - £12, Clutch Bag - £8 and Gold Cuffs - £8 - TOTAL - £36)

I loved the look of this shirt when I first saw it, it is a statement shirt that can be worn as the main piece to pull your outfit together. I have chosen this black leather midi skirt with a slit up the side to add class and sex appeal. To finish this outfit add some statement shoes like these vintage looking black leather sandals, and a clutch bag to match the monochrome look of the shirt. The clutch has two stripes of purple, but as its a small amount it completes the outfit and breaks up the monochrome.

TOTAL - £40

(Shirt - £8, Midi Skirt - £5, Clutch Bag - £4 and Leather Shoes - £23 - TOTAL - £40)

There is nothing smarter than a plain white shirt,  but its what you do from there that will determine your style. It can be the core of your outfit, enabling you to build around it. This shirt works perfectly with black smart trousers and the wedged boots. To add that extra edge I chose a maroon patterned smart jacket and a large red bag. This will look very profession and stylish as the white bright color will stand out against pattern at the top of the jacket. This outfit would be perfect for work, an interview or even a night out.

TOTAL - £70

(Shirt - £10, Bag - £10, Print Jacket - £28, Boots £13 and Trousers - £9 - TOTAL - £70)

What do you think of these outfits?
Which one would you wear?

Bargain Buy: Revlon Nail Art Neon

This new nail varnish by Revlon is a must buy for women who love bright nails. I am a major fan of long bright nails, unfortunately I had my Acrylic pointy nails removed to let my own nails breath, so were looking a bit sad at the moment.

This little invention is great for people who want bright looking nails but don't want to spend £4 - £6 everytime on a new nail varnish that doesn't require 5 coats. I personally have a few nail varnish's that require multiple coats, but by the time you have applied those coats, your nails look bumpy and horrible because of the amount of nail varnish you have applied.

The Nail Art Neon comes with two colours, a bright alluminious White and a colour of your choice. I decided to buy the Orange but it comes in a range of colours.

I decided to try the orange on it's own, to examine what the nail varnish appears as without the white base coat. It looks awful right, it reminds me of a yellow stain varnish and the stain colour you get from ciggarettes (if you smoke that is). I wanted to see the contrast of the before and after of applying the white.

As you can see in the nail varnish looks very bold on it's own, it is definately as white a Tipex. So surely this has got to help, I'm guessing that is the main idea right?

Of course it is! This nail varnish is amazing, I'm absolutely in love with this simple product. The trick with this nail varnish is that you apply the white first and then the orange after, it creates an alluminious base for the orange to shine through.

The best thing about this product is you can use it with your other nail varnish's. I can bet you have cheap nail varnish you have bought on a whim to try and they have come up very thin, so you have to apply multiple coats. Well ladies this is what you need. Whatever nail varnish you have, apply the white underneath and it will bright the colour out.

These are four good nail varnish that I chose to use with the Nail Art Neon.

BarryM Gelly Hi Shine - Dragon 308
BarryM - Cobalt Blue 151
Rimmel 60 Second - Rose Libertine 405
Ultima - Nail Chrome - Citrus Frost 113

In the above picture I have applied the Rimmel and the Ultima nail varnish with and without the white base from nail Art Neon, from left to right starting without the base, As you can see both colours are much more vibrant. The Rimmel Rose Libertine is almost like a Raspberry Candy Pink and the Ultima Citrus is a Glitter Block Gold.

In the above picture, showcasing both BarryM nail varnish's. BarryM is known to be a high quality brand and there nail varnish's are usaually very bold. The white base just adds extra depth and vibrance to these colours.

I have definately rambled on about this product, but I wanted to demonstrate how usable it is. This product retails at £7 but I have a little sneaky tip for you! It also retails in poundland, for an obvious cheap purchase price of a £1 along with multiple colours. I thought this was an incredible purchase and a definate Bargain Buy.

Let me know what you think to this purchase, or if you have this product let me know your opinion on this. Hopefully you like this product like I do!!

Lots of Love,
Katy
